The clock shows 5 'o clock. "Captain, we've arrived. Our sensors are clear," the navigational officer said, "looks like a binary star system." "Continue course to the nearest ship, that's the orders from high-command." The captain orders, his face stern. "We're flying a single-ship fleet anyway, so it's just us out here." "Heard, captain." The navoff responds, before patching himself into the chief engineers radio, "Jan, we've arrived. Orders are to go to the nearest planet, fire the engines." A radio buzz is heard, "We hear, we're firing the engines." The captain sighs and rambles, "I don't fucking get it. Almost two decades searching for other life and we've found nothing." "Surely there's something out there, right?" The navoff tries his best to reassure the captain, "What if this is the one?" What the navigational officer said ticked off the captain, and whilst the captain continued rambling, the navoff whispers into the radio for help, "The captain is rambling about aliens again..." The clock shows 7 'o clock. The computer the navoff is stationed at receives a signal, the navoff takes a listen at it. "Aurn onpx vzzrqvntryy! Aurn onpx vzzrqvntryy! Dzu lrp ly tyvlopr!" "What...?" the navoff physically muttered, "What is it saying?" authors notes: yet another incomplete story... i think i wanted this one to essentially end in the ship sinking btw the aliens were saying "turn back immediately" and "you are an invader" i wanted this story to essentially show how important communication is but i never finish stuff... hahahaha
